As a web designer I love Icons. They make your sites/applications more user friendly and give them flare. Over the years there have been thousands of Icons that designers have created. The list below is some of the best Icons that will bring flare or uniqueness to your site/applications and best of all they are all free.

  • Monofactor Icon Set 1 – These 25 Icons are very well done and whats best is that they are vector in Adobe Illustrator v8 and above.
  • IcoJoy – Has 4 sets of different Icons that are very good. The icons come in 6 different file types, .ico, .icns, .tif, .gif, .bmp, .png and they are great for blogs, web applications and web sites.
  • Webappers Web Application Icon Set – A great set of Icons with a nice shinny web 2.0 effect. Icons come in 3 sizes; 48×48 px, 32×32 px, and 24×24 px.
  • DryIcons – Has some very nice sets of Icons. My favorite set of Icons they have is the Simplistica set. Icons come in these sizes: 16x16px, 32x32px, 48x48px and 128x128px and 32-bit transparency PNG file format.

  1. I need some good icons to draw network maps. You know, computers, routers, switches, users, printers, etc.

    Any good sources?

  4. Awesome stuff you have there!

Since you’ve asked, I found this web site:

    http://www.iconspedia.com/

They have all kinds of great quality icons (for free, of course) from a bunch of different icon designers. The web site is nicely organized, and you can download the icons in various sizes (from 16×16 to 256×256) — and they even have PNG versions with transparent backgrounds.

    Keep up the good work!

  10. Here’s a great icon resource that just launched: icons.mysitemyway.com. What I like best is that each new set has at least a couple of hundred icons so you will probably find what you need.

  11. Cool sets!!!

Who wants another nice set of high quality icons, please welcome!)))

  12. Hi guys i like to share with you something, recently i came to know one new website through my friend there are loads of free high quality icons to download. Really amazing collections from them. Just go and grab it.. The website is http://www.icongab.com. Hope u all will like it…………….

    Cheers…………..

  13. I think the ‘DryIcons’ are the best, they have a depth to them and some lovely colors. Not a big fan of the tiny icons though, they look fiddly in your web design.
